A resident, Catherine, told the council that runoff from a recently built parking lot has created severe erosion on her driveway at 136 West South Street. "Now my driveway looks like the Grand Canyon. It is unsafe to walk down it," she said during public comment and asked what the next steps are to get the issue addressed.
Councilors and staff acknowledged the complaint and the mayor said the city would look into the situation. Catherine said utilities work and new pavement coincided with the worsening condition and that gravel she had placed in the driveway has been washed away. She provided her address to staff for follow-up.
