County staff noted FEMA returned the updated regional mitigation plan and recommended the commission formally adopt the revisions so the county's emergency operations and mitigation planning remain aligned and eligible for funding.
Staff (speaker 6) explained the plan is an update that had been in work for about a year and that adoption will align the county's emergency management documentation with regional and federal expectations. Commissioner (speaker 2) moved to approve adoption of the updated emergency management mitigation regional plan; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
Adoption allows the county to remain current for grant eligibility and for coordination with the region on hazard mitigation priorities. Staff said they would file the adopted plan according to FEMA guidelines and incorporate any further administrative steps required for funding applications.
