President Steve Buss told the committee that, as part of storm recovery, the village will allow storage containers in residential and commercial areas for 90 days from the date of loss and that the usual $250 monthly commercial fee will be waived for those business locations. Buss said the village’s immediate goals include repairing sidewalks and mitigating safety hazards before the Lena Fall Festival.
Buss also said the village is awaiting invoices from storm cleanup contractors "Gills and Docs." The board did not take a separate formal vote on the temporary storage-container policy at the meeting; the statement was recorded as an operational decision reported by the president.
