Staff report first month of combined auditor-treasurer duties: budget work, CPT learning and cleaned accounts

Madison, one of the deputies now handling auditor and treasurer tasks, told commissioners the "biggest thing was getting budget ready," and that staff had spent several weeks cleaning up account coding, catching up on deed changes and attending software and treasurer conferences. She said the county adjusted account numbers so the county's 14-digit numbers would align with CPT's system and that staff performed journal entries to correct salary line items.
Bryce and Emily said payroll was difficult the first time under the new system but subsequent runs were smoother; staff reported they will continue reconciling accounts and preparing notices for the Aug. 31 budget hearing. Emily, introduced as the current auditor deputy, said she completed required trainings and feels confident preparing for the November election.
