Levelland council approves minutes, administers oaths and elects Michael Stueart mayor pro tem
Summary
At its May 19 meeting the Levelland City Council approved prior minutes, administered oaths to Max Ledesma and Michael Stueart, and elected Stueart as mayor pro tem under the city charter. All organizational actions passed unanimously.
Mayor Breann Buxkemper called the Levelland City Council to order at 6:03 p.m. and led the Pledge and Invocation. The council approved the minutes of the May 5 regular meeting and the May 12 special meeting after a motion by Council Member Michael Stueart and a second by Bill Powell; the motion carried unanimously.
City Secretary Andréa Corley administered the Oath of Office to Max Ledesma (Council District B) and Michael Stueart (Council District D), formalizing their seats following the recent municipal election. Later in the meeting the council followed Article 6, § XI of the city charter to select a mayor pro tem: Bill Powell moved, Max Ledesma seconded and the council elected Council Member Michael Stueart as mayor pro tem. The election was approved unanimously.
