County signs multiple IGAs and amendments for WIC, public‑health infrastructure and mental‑health services

Public Health Director Katie Russell walked the board through several intergovernmental agreements and amendments affecting local public‑health, WIC, and mental‑health programs. She said WIC funding had been extended through the end of October and noted a 3rd amendment to an Oregon Health Authority IGA that provides infrastructure funding (staff and modernization) possibly through 2027. "It will help with infrastructure, and some other support that we can use the funding for," Russell said.
Russell also presented an amendment covering community mental health, addiction treatment, recovery and problem gambling services; staff said those dollars will support jail diversion programs and mobile crisis intervention. The board moved and approved the IGA with the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs for WIC coordination, the OHA amendments for public health infrastructure and community mental health, and a separate MHS choice model services IGA.
Commissioners voiced support and noted the importance of the funds for local continuity of services. The actions were recorded as motions and approved by voice vote; staff will complete the OHA paperwork and return any required copies for commission signature.
