The Lorain County Board of Commissioners on July 28 adopted a slate of routine financial actions including appropriations, transfers and requisitions that together commit millions for county operations and projects.
Res. No. 26‑416 authorized targeted appropriations, among them $270,000 for Veteran Services relief services and $5,030,861 for Sanitary Engineering lines to support the Quarry Rd sanitary sewer project and related distribution. Res. No. 26‑418 approved requisitions and purchase orders including $26,591.33 for Auditor software, $25,917 for Board of Elections tabulation servers, and $31,990 for Visitors Bureau advertising.
Res. No. 26‑420 authorized payment of bills across general and special funds, with the clerk reading detailed vendor claims that included routine maintenance, supplies and professional services. Commissioners also approved account transfers (Res. No. 26‑417) to cover departmental sick and vacation payouts and other reimbursements.
Commissioner Gallagher emphasized the importance of maintaining infrastructure and noted the sanitary appropriation was intended to ensure project funding for the county's sewer initiatives. All financial motions listed on the day’s consent items were adopted by unanimous roll‑call votes.
The board later amended a prior contract to specify the WRRF sub‑fund as the funding source for the Quarry Rd sanitary trunk sewer extension (Res. No. 26‑425).
