The Poulsbo Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the spring 2025 code amendment package, which staff described as updates tied to the comprehensive-plan periodic update and recent state mandates. Commissioner (S9) moved to forward the packet; Commissioner (S4) seconded and the motion passed.
Planning staff (S3) described key topics in the packet as "a density increase in our residential medium and residential high zones ... and then, our mobile home park overlay, which I know, most people are here for." Staff said the next step, if the commission's recommendation stands, is a City Council workshop on June 4 with an optional second workshop on June 11 and a council public hearing on June 18.
Residents of Viking Manufactured Home Park addressed the commission in support of the overlay. Irene Bowie (S5) told the commission she was "in support of the manufactured home park, overlay zoning" and asked commissioners to recommend it to City Council; Janet Craig (S6) and other residents stood to show support. Planning staff included the mobile-home-park overlay as part of the exhibit attached to the staff report presented at the hearing.
The motion to recommend the code amendments was read into the record as included in the packet; the commission recorded the motion, a second, and an affirmative vote and passed the recommendation to the City Council. No detailed roll-call tally was read into the minutes at the meeting.
