Reynolds said opposition testimony and an email circulated by a local official misrepresented the project, which he said had private contributions pledged and a contractor bid. "This will not increase tax revenue in the future," Reynolds quoted an email criticizing the project, and he said that misstatements swayed district leaders and led to the project's defeat in committee. He asked county leaders to note the procedural concerns and to clarify records around the decision.
