Parks staff reviewed recent and upcoming events and programming. The department said the road race was well organized despite rainy weather, with substantial late registration activity; staff reported "We had 405 mile runners and 411 1 mile runners and 57 kid dashers. Total, 868 participants total," and called the volunteer support "phenomenal."
Staff also said the Play for All playground opening drew roughly 106 people and previewed a robust summer-concert series with sponsor support; staff asked for one or two commissioners to help with band selection and marketing. Commissioners agreed to volunteer support for tabling and event involvement and staff noted Rachel will take lead on concerts while the director is on leave.
