Commissioners flag parking and signage problems at Rob Park, Rotary Memorial and Wilderness Trail
Summary
Commissioners raised repeated concerns about parking congestion near Play for All at Rob Park, a locked access gate that limits overflow parking, a fallen rock at Rotary Memorial Park's retaining wall, and missing trail signage on Wilderness Trail; staff will coordinate with the school district, fire, and public works to assess access and safety.

Commissioners told staff they are seeing heavy daily use at Play for All and that a gate to the district parking is often locked, limiting overflow options for families and event attendees. One commissioner said, "My only concern might be parking," and staff agreed to check whether the gate should be opened for events, consult the school or district about access, and to review fire-department concerns about emergency access.
Separately, staff reported a rock has fallen from a retaining wall at Rotary Memorial Park and Public Works and engineering will inspect it to ensure stability. Commissioners also noted several trail signs have been removed or damaged on Wilderness Trail and Rock Park; staff said the city is installing a new design of blue park signs and encouraged commissioners and the public to report missing or hazardous items via the city's 'Find It, Fix It' app or by emailing staff directly so Public Works can follow up.
