Board approves intergovernmental agreement with Town of Granby for permitting services
Summary
Grand County approved a Jan.–Dec. 2026 intergovernmental agreement with the Town of Granby for plan review, permitting and administrative services; the town will perform inspections and issue certificates of occupancy while the county will collect a portion of fees.
Assistant manager Micah Benson presented an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Town of Granby under which the town will contract for the county to perform plan review, building-permit administration and provide a schedule of fees. The term identified in the presentation runs Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2026, with annual renewal subject to appropriations and a 90-day cancellation clause.
Commissioners discussed fee-splitting mechanics (one speaker noted the county collects two-thirds of a building fee for providing service and the town collects the remainder plus its own charges). The board moved to approve the Granby IGA as described and voted aye.
