Lauren Krause, owner of 20 Parkway, told the board the project is "rounding 3rd base" on asbestos remediation and said updated architectural and drainage drawings had been submitted to meet 2025 building-code standards. She asked the planning board to align expired zoning, planning and building dates to avoid procedural disruptions.
"Right now, we're, rounding 3rd base with asbestos remediation," Krause said, and added that an active construction loan and updated drawings would allow the team to begin work this summer. The board discussed and then voted to grant an extension with a demolition commencement date of Oct. 31, 2026 and a completion target of Oct. 31, 2028; members emphasized the extension is time-limited and requires commencement of demolition to remain in effect.
The board noted the permit-extension language is intended to provide a clear path forward without a permanent open-ended extension; members asked for demonstrable progress (start of demolition) by the stated commencement date to avoid returning to the board for further extensions.
