Board committee advances superintendent-search RFP; draft to be reviewed in closed session

Vice Chair Cherry reported on the superintendent-search committee’s work at the Aug. 11 meeting, saying the committee has prepared a draft request for proposals to hire a firm to assist in the search.
"We have been working my myself along with, I guess, my cochair of this committee, miss Watkins, we work together to, conduct the 1st draft, and we anticipate tonight that we're gonna bring forward that draft in closed session so that the rest of the board can have the opportunity to review," Cherry said. He added, "we do anticipate releasing that RFP within the next week or 2."
Cherry said the committee intends to be thoughtful and transparent through each phase of the process and emphasized the opportunity to demonstrate healthy succession planning to the city and community. The draft RFP will be reviewed by the full board in closed session before release.
