Committee weighs Mass Energize’s social tools and data tracking

Meeting presenters showed screenshots from Medfield’s Mass Energize site and explained the platform’s social toolkit, which can auto‑generate up to eight posts per month and provide analytics on reach and follower growth.
John described the Medfield example and noted the follower increase: “to go from no presence at all to 750 in less than a year is, you know, not a small increase,” he said. Members asked whether Mass Energize would allow the committee to post program participation statistics (for example, Cape Light Compact’s rush‑hour thermostat setbacks) as part of town tiles on the site.
Presenters said Mass Energize provides site usage statistics and suggested the platform can be paired with Mailchimp or similar tools to survey participants, but they cautioned that systematic measurement of behavioral change is not part of the core service and would require additional effort or grant funding.
Members discussed how much volunteer time would be needed to populate and maintain locally relevant content; presenters estimated initial setup could be accomplished in a few months using existing templates, with only a handful of hours per month needed to sustain the site once populated.
