The Larimer County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously on Aug. 10, 2026, to adopt an updated ordinance titled "Larimer County Ordinance Regulations Relating to the Accumulation and Removal of Rubbish" on second reading. Amy White, code compliance supervisor, read the ordinance title and told the board that staff had not received public comment on the published draft. White said the county would publish the ordinance for 30 days and it is expected to become effective "sometime early September."
Commissioner Kefalas moved to adopt the amended rubbish ordinance and asked that it be published in a newspaper of general circulation; the board approved the motion 3-0. County Attorney Christine Lekkinson confirmed for the record that no comments had been received on the published version. The adoption directs staff to complete publication and administrative steps required for final enactment.
