Council obligates remaining ARPA funds to records-retention project for City Secretary

Councilors discussed several candidate projects for remaining ARPA funds, including security doors, golf carts for parking at events, a marquee sign and a records-retention project. City Secretary Leara Thorp said the records-retention work will proceed regardless of ARPA allocation but that obligating funds would speed the effort.
Aaron Scott moved to obligate the remaining ARPA funds to the Office of the City Secretary for a records-retention project via an MOU; Randy Page seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Council noted an MOU would be used to obligate the funds and staff will begin procurement and planning for records-retention equipment and supplies.
Thorp advised that without ARPA funds the project may take longer, but she described the project's goals and the need for equipment and supplies to meet records-retention standards.
