As the presenter explained, "DPS is legislatively required to apply all court reported convictions to a driver record within 7 days of the final disposition of conviction." The contract was authorized by motion and approved by the court.
Officials said the change is intended to improve public safety by ensuring timely updates to commercial driver licensing records and to support FMCSA priorities for commercial motor-vehicle safety.
