Lohn ISD reports new bus delivery, stadium lighting and pending FIRST release; board approves bills

Superintendent Kay Shackelford updated the board on district finances at the July 10 meeting, noting account balances, bills to be paid and the recent delivery of a new school bus; she said the district has processed payment for the bus. Shackelford also reported work on football stadium lighting and referenced the imminent release of the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).
During action items trustees approved payment of the bills presented to the board. Trustee Doug Hemphill moved to pay the presented bills; Bobby Pearce seconded and the motion carried unanimously with four trustees voting in favor.
The board did not adopt the 2025–26 budget or tax rate at this meeting; those items appear on a later agenda in the published meeting notice but are not recorded as acted on in the minutes.
