"We got a quote that came in absurdly high at 345,000 ... the good news is Ray, our CFO, got us a new quote that would be 166,000," Cliffview finance staff explained, noting that a combination of last‑year grants and pending applications could offset much of the extra cost. Cliffview leaders said windows and other deferred capital projects have constrained occupancy and resilience; they recommended proceeding to avoid winter weather damage and to support full occupancy targets.
Commissioners indicated they wanted to pursue potential permit‑fee waivers from the town and asked staff to continue seeking grant matches and to return with final funding options. Cliffview officials said they'll continue to pursue grants that could largely offset the additional expense.
