Commissioners give EMS green light to set up online Payground payment portal

"Payground is a is a software solution that would allow us ... to establish payment portals for patients online where they can pay their bill essentially in a self‑service manner," Austin Woodgate told commissioners, explaining the system will be funded from payment processing fees rather than from a subscription. Commissioners agreed the timing aligned with a January switch to new EMS billing software and gave staff permission to proceed with implementation planning.
Staff and the treasurer's office will coordinate how deposits are posted, and Woodgate said he would follow up with a more detailed implementation plan as planning continues.
