The Lometa City Council approved a lease agreement with the Lometa Senior Center on Aug. 4, clarifying that the center will not be charged a monthly rental fee but will remain responsible for its monthly utility payments. Mayor Derek Talley and a representative identified as Mrs. Kirby discussed the lease terms; Mrs. Kirby confirmed the center wanted no monthly monetary charge and planned to pick up the correct version of the lease for signature.
The motion to accept the lease was made by Councilmember Alex Witherspoon and seconded by Councilmember Taylor Thompson; the minutes record the motion as passing unanimously. The minutes also note that Mrs. Kirby indicated some other individuals might decline to sign the lease but that she was comfortable signing on behalf of the Lometa Senior Center.
