County parks-and-recreation draft distributed; commission to discuss at retreat

"This last week, joint services met, with, which is us with the county and, myself, Pro Tem Robinson and city manager Rich met with the county about parks and rec. And they passed out to us, their recommendation for parks and rec," the chair said. He described the draft as a shortened version of an earlier document — "I think this 1 here, I think, is 6 or 7" pages versus a previous "25 to 30 pages" — and emphasized that it was only a draft and not agreed to by the city. When a commissioner asked whether the draft came from the county, the chair confirmed, "This is the county's proposal, not ours," and said the county had asked the city for a counterproposal.
