The Rome City Commission opened the second of three public hearings on the city's tax millage rate on the agenda, but no members of the public offered testimony. The chair asked whether anyone was present to speak in favor or against the proposed millage and, receiving no response, closed the hearing.
"We are here to, for our 2nd of 3 public hearings concerning our tax millage rate, and that's pretty much all we're doing to talk about today," the chair said. The clerk's roll call recorded Mayor Bojo, Commissioner Robinson, Brock, Cochran, Beeman, Fisher, Collins and McDaniel as present; Commissioner Hickson was excused. With no questions from commissioners, the chair moved to adjourn the hearing and the meeting concluded without a vote on the millage at this session.
