Council approves rezoning request for Good Samaritan parcel on West 49th
Summary
The council adopted Ordinance No. 87-97 to rezone property in the 2500 block of West 49th Street to R-1B after applicant Casey Grama described plans for up to six dwellings per acre and Planning Commission recommendation of approval.
Casey Grama, the applicant, asked the council to rezone Lots 12 and 13, Block 2 (Good Samaritan Society Kearney Village subdivision) from R-1 to R-1B to allow development consistent with the future land use map. “LDR is defined as 6 dwellings per acre or less,” Grama told the council and noted the proposal would be approximately six dwellings on just over an acre.
Planning Commission recommended approval and there were no public objections during the hearing. The council moved to close the public hearing and pass Ordinance No. 87-97 by suspended readings and final passage.
