The council adopted a resolution confirming the annual weed-abatement charge list and authorizing the county to collect the costs through special assessment on property tax rolls.
Fire Marshal Jessica Estrella summarized the county-administered program: "For this fiscal year, a total of 1,573 parcels were identified. Of those, only 1 property required actual abatement work, totaling $5,377.19. The remaining properties were compliant, but are subject to the standard annual inspection fee of $59.07, resulting in $92,858.04. The total program cost $98,235.23." Staff said there is no fiscal impact to the city because costs are recovered from property owners. Council opened the hearing, received no public comment on this item and adopted the resolution unanimously.
