During the Jan. 12 organizational meeting the Claymont City Board of Education opened nominations for the office of president. Mrs. Host nominated Solomon Peters; following a motion to close nominations the board voted to elect Peters as president for 2026 (roll-call: Host yes; Campbell yes; Grandison yes; Peters abstain; Wolf yes).
After the vote Treasurer Kim Beckley administered the Oath of Office for President to Solomon Peters. The record shows the election and oath were completed as part of the organizational agenda before the board moved on to select a vice-president and approve board administrative items.
