The Lorenzo City Council voted May 11 to contract with Rene Bates Auctioneers to manage the sale of the city's surplus equipment and to designate the City Manager as the point of contact for that contract.
Council Member Steven Longoria moved to approve the contract; Council Member Cheryl Birdwell seconded and the motion carried 5-0. Separately, the council approved a motion to designate the City Manager as the contact person for Rene Bates Auctioneers; that motion was moved by Cheryl Birdwell, seconded by Rhonda Cypert, and also passed unanimously. No contract dollar amounts were recorded in the meeting minutes attached to the agenda.
