Furnish explained the quilt is for the department's 4th of July fundraiser and that some fabric came from her friend Donna Campbell, which she said made the item especially meaningful. The minutes note the department's fundraiser raised nearly $3,000 last year. Mayor Pro-Tem Cheryl Birdwell and other council members thanked Furnish for the donation; no council action was required.
