City reports sewer line extension and completes Olive Street; reclaimed asphalt to be reused on Mill Street

Public Works Director Corey Miller told the council crews installed two manholes and roughly 400 feet of six-inch sewer line in four days with no complications. Miller also said the department replaced and added electric lines at the water yard to protect a recently replaced valve from flooding.
Mayor Steve Forgy reported Olive Street work is complete and Arcosa's invoice came in about $300 lower than expected. The Road Funds account showed $36,550 prior to paying the Arcosa invoice. Mayor Forgy said leftover reclaimed asphalt from the Olive Street project will be used to oil-sand Mill Street; a local developer pledged $4,000 toward the work and the County estimates a full Mill Street reconstruction would cost about $8,000 to $10,000.
The County has already worked on Wallace Street and Olive Street and is willing to assist on Mill Street as well.
