Following a closed executive session under Texas Government Code Sec. 551.074 on Oct. 8, the Lone Oak City Council reconvened and approved actions discussed in executive session. The council then voted 5‑0 to hire Sarah Chapin as City Secretary, effective Sept. 23, 2024.
The executive session listed two personnel matters by name (Wayne Harris and Sarah Chapin). Councilmember Scott moved to approve the executive‑session items and Councilmember Hogue seconded; the motion passed 5‑0. Councilmember Owen subsequently moved to hire Sarah Chapin as City Secretary with Councilmember Barrow seconding; that motion also passed 5‑0.
