The Lone Oak City Council approved multiple actions on the Mesa Drive project on Nov. 12 after Mayor Steve Forgy recused himself from those items.
At 7:57 p.m. Mayor Forgy recused from agenda items 11–13, and the council then voted 4-0 to accept an updated quote from L&S Paving to move forward on Mesa Drive. Councilmember Hogue moved to approve the quote and Councilmember Scott seconded; the motion passed 4-0. The council subsequently approved a settlement agreement with Riverside Homebuilders for the Mesa Drive project, again on a 4-0 vote.
The council also voted to update an attorney bill for the Mesa Drive work so that the charge moves from the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) to the city, with the stipulation that the EDC will pay half of that bill. Councilmember Hogue made the motion, Councilmember Barrow seconded, and the motion passed 4-0.
Mayor Forgy returned to the meeting at 8:04 p.m. The council recorded no further discussion related to Mesa Drive following the mayor's return. No public comment was recorded on the Mesa Drive items.
