At the Dec. 23 meeting staff reported the final pay estimate for the Junction Road shoulder-stone project has been submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for signature, and Gateway Subdivision work is largely wrapped up for the year with a forthcoming Pay Request 5 for Contract 1.
Staff also said they received information from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources regarding the final $300,000 reimbursement on a grant and will follow up next week to confirm processing. "I finally got a response back from IDNR. They sent me some more information... I believe today, it went through for reimbursement ... the last 300,000 for the grant," staff said in the meeting record.
The staff update also covered multiple permit submittals for Frontier and SurfNet, noting several packages under review and a handful approved. Trustees asked a series of follow-up questions about review costs and whether the village can recover engineering or legal review expenses when a project is abandoned; staff said costs are typically expensed unless contract or permit language provides otherwise.
