United Way of the Bluegrass asked the Woodford County Fiscal Court for $3,400 to continue a pilot staffing the Waypoint resource based at the county health department. Michelle Jimenez described a four‑month pilot that served 20 clients and identified transportation and housing access as the most common needs; she said the award of $17,500 in transportation funding (Lyft) had been secured separately and that the requested $3,400 would fund the staff coordinator for two more months.
Jimenez said average cost per client for services in the pilot has been about $43.75 and that additional Fayette County partners would provide further funds. Judge moved to approve the allocation; the motion (by Squire Taylor, 2nd by Squire Carl) carried unanimously. The county will cover the allocation from appropriated emergency needs funds and the United Way said it will provide program breakdowns to court members on request.
