Peotone approves Conrad Street storm-sewer contract; Iroquois Paving to proceed

Troy, the village public-works staff member, told the board five bids were opened for the Conrad Street storm-sewer improvements and said the apparent low bid was from Interquick Paving at $815,457.08, about 1.6% above the village estimate. Troy said the bid results and warranty language led staff to recommend awarding the contract to Iroquois Paving Corporation.
Trustees discussed scheduling to minimize disruption to the adjacent school and agreed to schedule a preconstruction meeting in one to two months. The board moved and approved the award. "So we'll work with them on start date and we schedule a preconstruction meeting in a month or 2," Troy said.
