The village administrator told trustees the village has a small cache of obsolete computer bases in storage and that LeadingIT, the contracted IT provider, will wipe sensitive data and dispose of units at no additional charge.
"LeadingIT, who's our contracted IT provider, they as part of our ongoing relationship with them, they will at no extra cost, we'll take those, wipe them, and remove any, you know, valuable sensitive information and dispose of them properly," the administrator said. The board discussed whether any usable equipment could be donated to taxing bodies or nonprofits but noted the small quantity made donations unlikely. Staff said electronic recycling is available to the public on the first and third Wednesdays and replacements will be planned through the budget process.
No formal action was taken; staff will proceed with secure disposal and include replacements in budget planning.
