Resident criticizes downtown water work, says village "dropped the ball"

She said the downtown project was presented as improving underground infrastructure but that she still sees repeated breaks and unfinished repairs. "I just think the money that was spent is was wasted," she said.
Board members and staff responded with factual clarifications during the meeting. A village official noted Aqua now owns the water system and is responsible for repairs, and the board said work was being addressed as breaks occurred. The board did not take formal action on the comments; the item was recorded during the public-comment period and will remain part of the meeting record.
