"They come here and stay with host families for 12 weeks and play baseball and bring their friends, their family, and their their college teammates here with them to, to spend money," he said, summarizing the local economic benefit.
The presenters outlined ancillary activity including college showcases, high school postseason tournaments and community fundraisers that use the stadium and help funnel attendees into restaurants and hotels in the Colosseum Central District. They asked council members to consider how the city might support and promote those regional draws.
