Selectmen accept three $1,000 donations; board reads statement from Charcoal Chef owner

The Board of Selectmen voted to accept with gratitude a $1,000 donation from the Woodbury Lions Club to support Park & Rec summer camp and a $1,000 donation from Judy Duran of the Charcoal Chef for Park & Rec sponsorship. Paul Zolpa read a statement provided by Duran announcing that the Charcoal Chef has been sold and will re-open under new owners as Barbecue Americana; the board thanked Duran for her long service and the donation.
Zolpa also acknowledged a $1,000 donation from S & S Paving for the Soldiers Monument South Green renovation that was placed directly into the town's special revenue fund and therefore did not require formal acceptance. In his reading of Duran's statement he said, "I thank all the customers who have come through our door and all the staff past and present. I miss you all." The donations were approved on voice votes during the meeting.
