"Just seeing... the look on a homeowner's face is just absolutely enjoyable and just brings warmth to my heart," Williams said, describing the emotional payoff for volunteers. McBride also thanked faith partners for providing lunches and other support at sites.
Organizers described faith and fraternal groups as a consistent source of leadership that helps scale the Blitz beyond city staff capacities.
