Virginia Air & Space Center director announces June STEM additions and new robotics lab

Bob Griesemer, who identified himself as executive director of the Virginia Air and Space Center, thanked the council for financial and community support and outlined planned exhibits and programming.
"We'll be opening up the Imagination. It'll be called Engineer It, an Imagination Playground on June 15," Griesemer said, and added that a robotics laboratory with NASA partnership would also open the same day. He said the center aims to become "the preeminent STEM free choice learning environment in this area."
Griesemer described the center's efforts as a combination of earned revenue (admissions, facility rentals, gift shop) and charitable support, and asked for ongoing civic backing as the center expands programming and facilities.
