Morgantown council selects Utility Supply meters after Metron test meters fail readings

Utility Clerk Becky Smith reported that Metron provided 10 test meters to the town and that "Two of the meters were not reading at all," while DPW reads showed four of the 10 did not report. Council members said a customer portal and reliable leak detection were priorities.
On a motion by Council member Jewel Blevins, seconded by Council member Stacie Baker, the council voted unanimously to adopt Utility Supplys water system. The minutes record that the town currently pays an annual maintenance fee of $3,800, which Utility Supply said matches the existing yearly fee. Council President Joe Blevins also asked staff to consider cleaning the water tower and installing a mixer if contingency funds remain in the project budget.
