Commissioners discussed activating the boathouse for weekend use and organizing family-focused activities such as birthday parties, scavenger hunts, and paddle-boat rentals. Erin Jimenez, who operates the city pool, was identified as the staff member who would secure an attendant when paddle boats are operated.
Commissioner Gail Fry recommended two-hour rental blocks and concentrating events in June and July to match peak season. The city would collect rental, concession and admission revenue and pay attendants as contract labor; tenants renting facilities would be responsible for cleanup and trash removal. Staff were asked to gather pricing for similar facility rentals in the city.
