Toccoa earns two Municipal Gas Authority awards; manager highlights HEAT program contributions

She said one award recognized the entity that brought on the most chicken houses and added, "we have 16 new houses." Wheeler also said the city and its customers were recognized for consistent contributions to the HEAT program, which directs donated utility-bill funds to the 9th District to assist homeowners.
Wheeler thanked citizens for their generosity in directing funds to the HEAT program and noted this is the second year the city has received that recognition. The report was presented as part of department and commissioner updates; no formal action was required of the commission at the meeting.
