Peotone board authorizes intergovernmental agreement to join Illinois Public Works Mutual Aid Network

The Peotone Village Board voted to authorize an intergovernmental agreement to participate in the Illinois Public Works Mutual Aid Network (IPWMAN). Public works staff explained, "So IPW MAN is the mutual aid network through the state of Illinois for public works, all public works communities. We've been part of it for quite a few years now. It's a $100 a year." The item was moved, seconded and approved by the trustees present.
Staff described IPWMAN as a formalized mutual-aid agreement that supplements support after significant incidents (for example tornado response) by allowing jurisdictions to request and receive resources from participating communities. The board's authorization establishes Peotone's participation under the IGA presented in the meeting packet.
