Staff reported that Sip and Stroll ticket availability was raised to 650 paid tickets with approximately 50 comp tickets, for a total capacity near 700. "So we increased those tickets to 650," the presenter said, noting some businesses had previously seen uneven customer distribution across stops and staff wanted to increase overall attendance to bring more visitors downtown.
The board also heard event dates and staffing plans: Buda Halloween is scheduled for Oct. 26 at Buda City Park with family activities and a movie screening (Hotel Transylvania beginning at 8 p.m.), Rail Car Revival is scheduled for Nov. 9, and Beautifest is scheduled for Dec. 6–8. Staff said the Economic Development Corporation will sponsor a gift-card platform and pay transaction fees to remove costs for businesses taking part in the holiday gift-card program.
Staff said marketing push timing will be staged and that volunteer opportunities for Veterans Day parade, Beautifest and Sip and Stroll will be circulated to board members. The city will also be conducting a tourism/event impact study that includes Beautifest, winter dog races, and the Rail Car Revival, with downtown impact metrics to follow.
