County staff briefed supervisors on the recommended Personal Property Tax Relief Act (PPTRA) percentage for 2026 and asked the board to adopt a resolution so the treasurer may prepare tax bills.
Staff said the computed percentage, based on Commonwealth guidelines, is 25% for 2026; the percentage had been 25.75% in 2025. "You have a draft resolution in your packet," staff told the board, asking for action so the treasurer can prepare fall tax bills.
Supervisor Townsend moved to approve the resolution to set the PPTRA percentage at 25% for 2026; the motion was seconded and carried on roll call with votes recorded as yes from the listed supervisors. The board instructed the treasurer to proceed with bill preparation.
No local fiscal impact analysis was presented at the meeting beyond the statewide computation methodology and the staff estimate of the total relief pool.
