A&M students to present wastewater-line mapping; work may inform growth planning

BAEN and urban planning students have produced detailed wastewater-line mapping for Burton and will present final reports at Texas A&M and locally; students will model line capacity and present to the council in May.
Students in Texas Target Communities (BAEN) and URPN (urban planning) have been working with Burton staff on wastewater-line mapping and transportation planning. The BAEN students submitted more than a 100‑page mapping report and will run calculations on line capacity; they will present final work in April at Texas A&M and meet the council in May. URPN students will present their final transportation projects on April 22 at the American Legion Hall from 2–4 p.m.
The mayor and a TxDOT engineer engaged with students on potential ideas that touch the school district; the council and staff will continue to coordinate presentations and stakeholder feedback as the student projects conclude.
