Arnie C. Acdinoff, the county public advocate, described bus stacking and heavy parent pickup that leaves cars parked on the street, and he recommended creating "notches" or mini parking areas for temporary pickup rather than sending county police to issue citations. He said forthcoming development by Mercy Systems could add an outer road connecting Waterford Crossing to Outer 364 and help alleviate traffic.
Longtime resident Richard Pickering recounted a near-collision caused by three-abreast parking during pickup and suggested the school district consider acquiring adjacent vacant property for pickup or widening back roads behind the school. "There are alternatives than being on the street," Pickering said, urging the county to explore options before imposing an outright ban. Several speakers referenced Section 310.010 of the county code, which requires a public hearing before putting up signage; the hearing and public comments will inform the county's approach.
