Landscaping business seeks permit at 4230 N. Highway 94; applicant says equipment will be stored indoors

The council heard an applicant presentation for Bill 5,517 (CUP26-06), a conditional-use permit for a landscaping contracting business at 4230 North Highway 94. Robert Myers, planning and zoning director, said the nearest residence was about 600 feet away and the Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval 9-0 under section 405.510(b); county staff likewise recommended approval.
Applicant Ted Hafner described the site: an older residence with a 60-by-40 outbuilding intended to house equipment, with trucks parked on a gravel area approximately 50-by-80 feet. "There won't be anything stored on the outside of it, except for the vehicles," Hafner said. Arnie C. Acdinoff, the county public advocate, urged that the permit include a prohibition on outdoor repairs and reiterated hours of operation to avoid disturbing nearby residents. The chair closed the hearing and said the council will vote on the bill in two weeks.
